Being the "IT Guru" all his life, Waner knows that working with computers isn't about the bits, bytes, or the type of RAM in your box, it's about the people and making technology work for them.
He isn't the tech guy. He is your friendly neighbor, who happens to have a specialty in IT, and a passion for passing on knowledge.
Managing a well-oiled machine, Waner is responsible for a team of technology education professionals and the programs they establish and maintain. This includes being the technology owner of the newly implemented Learning Management System which serves all staff and volunteers of Lee County's largest employer, Lee Health. The LMS currently provides education modalities for 15,000+ employees and volunteers. Additionally, Waner coordinates with application SMEs for enterprise-wide communications, creates and monitors organizational learning initiatives, and acts as a Jack-Of-All trades when it comes to technology solutions.
Waner was a key player in many project initiatives, because of his understanding of adult learning and the way the modern clinician consumes information. He created new training programs on the existing and emerging system-wide enabling technologies to increase employee efficiency.
Waner assisted with projects from data gathering to go-live and, communicated with end users that include nurses, department directors and C-Level staff, and converted their requests into meaningful IT solutions.
As communications officer, A volunteer position that Waner held for 6 years, he relaunched the website into the 21st century, managed the social media accounts, and edited/distributed the monthly newsletter. He also found ways technology improved the business functions of the Club.
A company that Waner started, he focuses on the small business and residential markets. He creates an online presence for businesses, provides software training, and assists business owners, non-profits, and local residents with their technology quesitions and troubles.
Waner worked on a small yet efficient team to manage the IT needs of all Collier County employees. This included working on special projects, IT support, Commissioner home visits, board meeting assistance.
While working with the Finance department, he created ad-hoc reports using SQL and provided technical assistance to end users. He also developed and delivered training materials in a small classroom setting for university staff.
Waner maintained and updated the college's website. He created, used, and implemented new technology on the web to create a more engaging student experience.

Apart from working for the largest healthcare provider in the county, Waner likes to keep his skills honed by freelancing with his consulting business, which includes website management and support.
When not staring at a computer screen, he wears many hats. He volunteers as a public speaking instructor for school-aged kids. He is a private pilot, youth sports coach, student tap dancer, beginning podcaster, motivational speaker, grilling enthusiast, stage actor and a licensed drone operator. But he is most proud of being a husband and father.
